Their schools over there are very exacting in the usage of the English language. I don't doubt there's a plethora of people who revert to more relaxed standards out of pure spite for conformity, but whatever. That what I meant.

really, I haven't met many brits only like one or two and they don't seem to be overly excessive in the vocabulary department, maybe it was just who I met.

Mr. Weasley didn't die because he's the only real father figure in the book -- he was originally slated to die. Mrs. Weasley is a favorite of JKR, so she stays. Hermione and Ron were going to die too, and then it was just Hermione, and then none at all -- so really it was just JKR trying to find more depth and symbolism in the meaning of the deaths she did choose.

Lupin and Tonks, for example. They absolutely had to die, so that Teddy (AKA mini Harry) existed. The twins, however ... they were chosen because they're *both* so popular. We'd feel the loss of the twins far more strongly than the loss of anyone else, save the trio; it'd put into sharp relief how much the war had touched everyone. Fred died because George lost his ear -- balance.

but it's soooooo sad I know that the WHOLE weasley family couldn't live, but why FRed????? BUt it seems the only thing that could have happened logically, cuz the trio had to live, Ginny had to marry Harry (haha that rhymed), Mr. and Mrs. WEasley couldn't just cuz, no one cares about Percy, and we don;t really know much about Bill or Charlie so not much there, and Fred and Geroge are so loveable she just had to kille one of them, and Fred's more popular.......but I still can't belive he's dead
